I was reading an article about this group of people in Elbonia, Africa. A group of missionaries called the S.I.M. went there and preached the Gospel of Jesuschrist and translated the Word of God so they could read it by themselves.<br /><br />A few years later, when the Church of Elbonia was just begining, with only <span style="color: rgb(102, 51, 255);">150</span> Christians in the whole country, the Soviet Union took control and exiled the S.I.M. missionaries from the country. Everybody thought the Church was doomed.<br /><br /><span style="color: rgb(102, 102, 204);">Political persecution</span>. <span style="color: rgb(204, 51, 204);">Death</span>. <span style="color: rgb(102, 102, 0);">Violence</span>. <span style="color: rgb(204, 153, 51);">Oppresion</span>. That is what they received.<br /><br />And what was the outcome??<br /><br />Today the church has <span style="font-weight: bold;">4 million Christians</span>. That is <span style="color: rgb(51, 204, 0);font-size:130%;" >4, 000, 000</span> saved souls.<br /><br />In the midst of death and oppresion,<span style="color: rgb(153, 0, 0);"> the People of God came through.</span><br /><br />Yet we dominicans do not have these problems. We can follow Christ without violence or adversity against us. We have heard the Gospel a million times. We have a Bible available to us. We have a thousand churches just minutes away from anywhere we may be.<br /><br />Yet we throw that all away. When there are people in the world being <span style="font-size:130%;">killed</span> in the name of Jesus, we can not be <span style="font-size:130%;">bothered</span> to put down the dominoes or the laptops or the traditions and lift our heads and listen to what God is saying.<br /><br />People all over the world area saying "<span style="color: rgb(51, 255, 255);">Take my life. My soul belongs to Jesus!</span>" and in the midst of evil are changing their nations for the better.<br /><br /><span style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0); font-family: georgia;font-size:180%;" >We could not care less.</span><br /><br />We sit in Colmados and play and drink. We put our hopes in playing "numbers" because we had a dream. We go to college and get a degree, but work only for ourselves. We want to leave, be it by boat or plane.<br /><br />Help me here.
